Abstract

Breastfeeding serves as a vital nutritional source, delivering essential antibodies that safeguard infants against bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections. The efficacy of this process is heavily reliant on proper breastfeeding techniques, which involve the precise positioning and attachment of the infant to the mother. Despite its importance, many mothers lack adequate knowledge of these methods, leading to clinical complications such as nipple trauma, inadequate milk flow, and infant breastfeeding refusal. These challenges often create significant barriers to successful lactation. This community service initiative was designed to address these issues by enhancing maternal knowledge through targeted education. The primary objective is to inform breastfeeding mothers about optimal positioning and lactation management. The program utilizes a methodology of social mobilization combined with direct assistance, specifically tailored for the maternal community. By implementing structured educational guidance and practical mentoring, this intervention aims to improve maternal understanding and technical skills, ultimately empowering mothers to overcome common breastfeeding obstacles and ensure optimal infant health.
