Abstract

Background: Anemia in pregnant women remains a significant public health challenge. The 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data shows that the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women reached 48.9%. This condition increases the risk of postpartum hemorrhage, extreme fatigue, puerperal infections, and in severe cases can even lead to heart failure. In the fetus, maternal anemia is closely associated with premature birth, low birth weight (LBW), intrauterine growth retardation, and increased neonatal mortality. Methods: The implementation of activities included health education, distribution of educational leaflets, health education, distribution of educational leaflets, and interactive discussions. Results: The results of the activities showed that participants participated enthusiastically and were able to understand the meaning of anemia, risk factors, and the importance of checking hemoglobin levels during pregnancy. Health education has been proven effective in increasing awareness of pregnant women regarding early detection of anemia.
